MARmith0 Font. A dialog box appears. Click
on the second option i.e Save this File
to disk and click OK. |

After the fonts is saved,
click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. In the
Control Panel double-click on 'Fonts'. |

Select File -> Install
New Font... option. Then select the drive and folder
in which
you had saved the font file as above. You should see
the file MARmith0.ttf displayed in the upper left
corner box. |

Select the font file
then click on 'OK'. The font will get installed on
your computer. You
should now be able to view the site in Devnagri. |

If you are unable to
see the site even after downloading the font, you
need to change
some settings in your browser. For that please do
the following.

If you are using internet
Explorer browser , click on View , select -> "encoding",
then select "User defined" option. The page will be
seen in Marathi fonts properly. |
| b) |
If you are using Netscape
browser, click on Edit select -> Preferences->Fonts.
Under the title "Sometimes a document will provide
its own fonts" there are three
options . Select the third option "Use document-specified
fonts, including dynamic
fonts" then click ok and reload the page.

Create a
directory '/usr/local/bin/ttffonts' using command
'mkdir /usr/local/bin/ttffonts'. |

Change the
current working directory to ttffonts directory using
command
'cd /usr/local/bin/ttffonts'. |

Copy the
downloaded MARmith0.ttf font in this directory. |
| 4. |
Make sure
that name of the font is 'MARmith0.ttf' (case sensitive)'.

Use command
'ttmkfdir>fonts.scale'. |

Use command
'mkfontdir'. |

After this
you will see files named 'fonts.dir' and 'fonts.scale'
in this directory. |

Go to directory
'/etc/X11/fs'. |

Open file
named 'config' VI editor. |

Append the
path of the fonts directory i.e. '/usr/local/bin/ttffonts'
to the right hand side of the expression 'catalog=<the
path of the fonts directory>.' |

Save the
file. |

Restart
the machine. |

In the Netscape
Navigator edit>preferences>fonts>variable width fonts
you will see the font you have added i.e. subak. select
the option use document specified fonts using dynamic
fonts. |
